Two ‘LJ men’ held after shootout

KARACHI, Jan 2: The Crime Investigation Department’s counter-terrorism and financial crime unit arrested two suspects belonging to the Laskhar-i-Jhangvi following a shootout in Sultanabad early Wednesday morning.

Arms and ammunition were seized from them, police said. Kashif alias Shooter and Tariq belonged to the LJ’s Karachi chapter, they added. The suspects had confessed to killing 11 people belonging to the Sunni Tehrik and the Shia community in Bilal Colony, New Karachi and Surjani, they said.—Staff Reporter
