Just look at the other Arab leaders, the oppression and state control in Arab countries as compared with the peaceful lives and the freedoms (in particular religious freedom) people have in Syria before the uprising, low crime rate, low inflation… and so on. You just need to talk to Syrians (from any religious divide) and not listen to the ‘controlled’ media.

Syria used to be a peaceful country until two years ago when outside forces started the so-called ‘revolution’. In fact Assad appeared to be the only reasonable Arab leader.
