Thar festival

MITHI, Jan 5: The provincial ministry of youth affairs has planned a three-day Thar festival here from Jan 10 to Jan 22.

The festival would be held in collaboration with the district government of Tharparkar and the National Bank.

According to sources in the district government, cash prizes of Rs25,000, Rs15,000 and Rs10,000 for the first, second and third positions, respectively, would be given to winners in the fields of crafts, paintings/calligraphy, arts, photography, music and speeches at the festival.

Registration forms can be obtained from the office of Qamar Raza Baloch, ADC-I, at the secondary education complex, Mithi.A meeting held here on Friday, with DC Makhdoom Shail-ul-Zaman in the chair, reviewed the arrangements for the festival. —Correspondent
