Plots hatched to pit MQM against PPP, says Altaf
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said that he has not deserted President Asif Ali Zardari despite several attempts made to pit the MQM and Pakistan People’s Party against each other.
According to a press release issued on Sunday, he told a delegation of the People’s Youth Organisation’s United Kingdom chapter that `several’ conspiracies had been hatched over the past five years to end the PPP-MQM alliance but he had not left the president for the sake of democracy.
“We are democratic people and will continue to play our role for strengthening democracy,” he said.
Mr Hussain appreciated the People’s Youth Organisation’s workers and leaders for expressing solidarity with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the delegation expressed the hope that the cooperation between the two parties would continue.

what an accomplishment from these two political n democratic parties …people of Pakistan have been very very happy with this alliance… which has brought peace in Karachi, and roti, kapra and makan to all poor voters… keep it up the good work and save democracy for next five years as well
The love and hate relationship between PPP and MQM is costing innocent lives…. For the sake of humanity please file for divorce……
Will Scotland yard finish their investigation and book this man for murder of Dr.Imran Farooq. Enough of this nonsense already.
MQM is as guilty as PPP. MQM is power hungry not for people only for power.
PPP was able to do corruption with the help of MQM.
PML-N with friendly opposition also did corruption and lawlessness in Punjab.
May be Mr.Hussain should focus more on packing up a suit case and heading over to Islamabad for his hearing. What makes this nut so special out of all those other political nuts that he sends his representatives to his own contempt of court hearing. Absurd Pakistan!
All is ok except your last offenssive line. You may put it like absurd pakistani politicians.
