LAHORE, Jan 6: Trade with India would remove monopolies, create a competitive and balanced environment of business and consumers and the common man would benefit from it.
Apprehensions of losses to the economy of Pakistan due to open trade are baseless, Pak-Indo Business Council (PIBC) Chairman Noor Muhammad Kasuri told APP on Sunday.
He said that some sectors were creating disinformation about trade with India to continue exploitation of consumers. “On the basis of a by PIBC on different sectors of the economy, we can say with authority that improved trade with India will be in the interest of Pakistan and all fears of exploitation by Indian businessmen have no worth,” he added.
“The PIBC assures the business community that it will not support any move against the interest of the national economy. It also appreciates the government of Pakistan and its institutions for adopting a supportive stance on trade,” he said. — APP
