Pakistan’s treatment of slain troops ‘inhuman’: India
AFP | 9th January, 2013
NEW DELHI: The Pakistani army’s treatment of two Indian soldiers who were killed along the border in Kashmir was “inhuman”, Indian Defence Minister A K Antony said on Wednesday.
“Pakistan army’s action is highly provocative. The way they treated the dead body of the soldiers, Indian soldiers, is inhuman,” he said after reports and military sources said one of the troops had been beheaded on Tuesday.
“We will convey our protest to the Pakistan government and our DGMO (director general of military operations) will talk to his counterpart in Pakistan. They are closely monitoring the situation,” he told reporters.

Pakistan attack on Indian army was a reprisal to latter’s Sunday assault on farmer’s post, according to India media reported Thursday.
The reports citing sources in New Delhi’s ministries of internal and defence affairs on Thursday held Indian soldiers responsible for escalation of tensions between the two countries. The reports said that commandos from 9th Maratha Light Infantry caused provocation by launching attack on Pakistani position.
Sources in both the ministries said Islamabad attack was a response to Indian assault. The reports claimed that Brigadier Gulab Singh Rawat deputed at Charchanda Sector along the Line of Control (LOC) decided to launch aggressive attack that led to killing of Pakistani soldiers, including a commissioned officer.
A report pointed out that Brigadier Singh was an aggressive officer and his behavior affected nine-year old ceasefire agreement between both the countries.
The Indian army has ordered an investigation into the matter and a decision was likely against Brigadnier Singh, the India media reports said………………………………………….
I see some very disturbing comments on this post from both sides. Just goes to show the kind of intolerance we have on both sides of the border. Whatever happened on sunday with Pakistani and Indian soldiers is sad. Whatever misunderstanding that led to this incident must not happen again. We all know how brutal our societies can be (Delhi rape or Shahzeb killing). Atleast the educated class should show a little bit more maturity and tolerance. Shame on all you guys who would just like to score a point, even over this.
Surprised!…should have played the stunt before cricket to cancel….but mony involved
Just a thought….pl check if any of the drones have killed some more in your country and by the way, do you keep a count of no. of killed so far….may be not, because any which ways your people are a liability on you and not assets. I pity your country
whether the accusation of beheading is true or not much of the world will believe its true if the accused are muslims. Ironically, It is not too dissimilar from Pakistanis being predisposed to believing a nonmuslim has blasphemed if they have been so accused..
What were Indian soldiers doing inside Pakistani territory?
Just a thought, its very sad but after reading NFP, i think like him or may be i was thinking like him and he got influenced
!!
Today end of play, if there is any mechanism to count number of people killed on South Asia’s transport system like Roads, trains etc, due to fire or otherwise other hazards like terror activities. Or for that matter take a average of all the deaths in South Asia which occur every rainy season, how many people on an average get killed over a period of year?
Now look at the number of soliders getting killed in cross border fire, is it worth discussion, i leave it to u all people !!!
So a soldier’s death should go in vain ? And his supreme sacrifice of safegaurding your well being is just another statistic ? Boy ! No wonder your country is the way it is !
Pakistan Army knows if India-Pakistan relations become all rosy their relevance at home will become nil. So they will never stop unprovoked ceasefire violations!
getting killed in cross border firing is still understanable.. but beheading a dead body shows the character of the pak army.
Just for your information, India has never done this to any Pakistan soldier, even during 1971 and 1999 Kargil, India buried all the dead bodies of Pakistani troops with respect. Fight like a warrior, you get respected like one, that is what Indians believe in.
tit for tat!!
its high time for india to continue showing restraints on the affairs with pakistan.. i think they have given enough olive branches all this while with no trusted reciprocation from the other side.. looks to me that another kargil is on card and we all know what was the result and how humiliated pakistan was on the international front.. if they can’t help themselves, least can india do…. as much as i respect indians official stance on its affairs with pakistan i somehow feel that they should have little bit of Israelite attitude in dealing with their western neighbour… fear can go a long way.
You were actually sleeping when indians killed a Pakistani soldier on sunday. What a HIPOcracy and petty indian minds
so basically you are justifying the cowardly and inhuman act done by your soldiers and actually accepting what they did..
i think if he was killed(if he really was) then it was due to the cross border firings which was from both sides.. could have happen to any indian soldier too.. its unfortunate that the poor pakistani soldier got in the line of the firing.. however what pakistani soldiers did was shameful.. they attacked a patrol party in the dark, went all the way across the LOC to the indian side, beheaded the martyred soldiers and took one of the severed head with them as trophy…. you should be thankful that israel is not your neighbor.
And were you sleeping when the Pakistanis killed 2 Indians 5 days before a Pakistani died
Well said, Shuaib ! AoA ! Lets show them who’s the boss !
Fear can go a long way! huh???????
yes fear can surely go a long way.. that small nation has created fear in the heart of all the muslim nations.. their fearsome attitude and their retaliation to strikes on their home land and people is well known.. perhaps india should take a leaf out of their book and that’s exactly what i believe Alex is suggesting…
People on both sides need to understand the timing of these border clashes. Armies on both sides get huge disproportionate amounts from the national budget because of the whole ‘Enemy at the gates’ scenario. Every time the political and cultural ties seem to head towards normalization these clashes take place. Maybe the Indians did fire, or maybe the Pakistanis tortured the Indian soldier. The only thing that surprises me is the timing of it all. As expected patriots from both sides start chanting slogans and the debate is over.
Just when the relationship sees a positive development there comes an irritant to derail the peace process. Pakistan army will never do such thing. There should be a thorough investigation to know the facts. It was first reported that Indian troops opened indiscriminate firing on Pakistan troops now it is Indian blaming the same on Pakistan troops. Conducting of India Pakistan cricket series in India was not digested by some quarters in India. Can there be a link between the two
write a novel dude u hav a good imagination…u could be the next J K rowling
Y you Pakistanis are this much cruel ?
N we are more cruel than this. Only and only if Y indians behave like you behaved on sunday
thats expected from the followers of the religion of peace.. this is what you are stacked up since your childhood..
I hope your cruelty will help you solve your internal problems. Because Indians are not here to demean anyone but yeah our army is in govt control and they are very proud. If indian army would have been like pakistani army this would not have been 60years long enmity.
Manoj, get real….if common people are going to be swayed by govt. accusation there is no hope. Both the govt. are capable of concocting stories… as certain segments within military benefits from conflicts, we need to rise above the petty accusations and find reasons for peace and not war…
Oh grow up. No one knows the facts.
If it was cross border firing, how did the Pakistani army manage to get their hands on the bodies of Indian soldiers?
are you really so naive… just turn around history pages on the kargil fiasco and you will know what exactly was done and why it got all started… pakistan went across the LOC, killed and mutilated the indian soldiers and took the heads with them as souvenirs…. thats when india retaliated and we all know how pakistan was humiliated.
