Pakistan’s economy flourished during dictators’ De-facto rules. so can we deduct from your article that political parties and their governments were all a part of problem rather than a solution. Just see the abysmal performance of the current dispensation over the last five years, we can say that the main binding constraint is bad governance and mismanagement.

Hmmm, very nice article. Just in the neighborhood, can you ignore the growth story of India? Yes, there is much poverty, inequalities, slow justice etc. But equitable growth and secular laws have resulted in a 400 million middle class who are slowly and surely becoming aware, better educated and changing India like never before.

Sorry, the Malaysian economy is spurred on by its own oil resources, other natural resources like palm oil, and a booming tourism sector that is vigorously promoted by the government. In contrast, Pakistan and India have an astronomical bill for oil supplies. The government in Malaysia is no doubt forward-looking, but to compare the economy with that of Pakistan or India seems less than fair.

Good governance that puts the nation first with salient views regarding the future of the country, aided by the people in the nation’s future where basic amenities for every day use are available like power,good administration, prudent use of money invested in education,health and so forth.Look at Malaysia .Got independence from the British [like you] in 1957. 30 million people with a flourishing economy, almost zero poverty and 140 Billion Dollars in the bank. So where did you go wrong Pakistan?
