QUETTA: An intelligence official, a cleric and a political activist were killed in separate attacks here on Wednesday.

“The intelligence official was passing through Kharotabad area on a rickshaw when men on a motorcycle intercepted it, got him off and shot at him,” Deputy Inspector General (Investigation) Hamid Shakil said.

The official, Nazir, died while being taken to hospital.

Law-enforcement agencies personnel cordoned off the area and carried out a search. No arrest was reported.

In Sariab area, Maulana Amir Bakhsh, a prayer leader, was shot dead and police termed it a sectarian attack.

Abdul Aziz Pirkani, a political activist and relative of a senior leader of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal, who had been gunned down some time back, was killed near the Eastern Bypass.
