ISLAMABAD: One person was injured on Monday in Rawalakot’s Battal sector after shots were reportedly fired by Indian soldiers, DawnNews reported.

Earlier today, Pakistan had demanded of India to abide by the ceasefire agreement between the countries with regard to Kashmir.

Pakistan had made the demand during a flag meeting held between the Pakistani and Indian army commanders at the Line of Control (LoC).

The Pakistani army brigadier in Poonch sector also participated in the meeting which was held to discuss the recent violations of the ceasefire agreement.

During the meeting, the Pakistani commanders rejected the allegations levelled against them by their Indian counterparts.

The Indian commanders accused their Pakistani counterparts for firing across the border, while the latter registered their own protest against Indian violations of the ceasefire at the LoC, military sources told DawnNews.

Also during the meeting, the Pakistani army demanded that India must comply with the ceasefire agreement.

Earlier on Monday, the Indian Army chief, General Bikram Singh, had threatened aggressive action against any provocation by the Pakistani army.

“The attack on January 8 was premeditated, a pre-planned activity. Such an operation requires planning, detailed reconnaissance,” General Singh told a news conference in New Delhi.

“I expect all my commanders at the Line of Control to be both aggressive and offensive in the face of provocation and fire,” he added.

Pakistan had also proposed a third party probe into the ceasefire violations recently but India had rejected the proposal saying it did not wish to “internationalise” the issue.

COMMENTS

  1. I do hope the arranged cricket matches go ahead — a lot of talent on both sides and will give encouragement to the youngsters.

  2. I think it was something silly which provoked this ‘ fight’. Both parties are mature enough not to start this first. We should ‘talk’ it out rather than calling some third party to ‘ investigage’.

  3. pakistan has nothing to say other than demanding third party intervention and deny whatever they do.

    • Only the culprit and guilty refuses the open and nonpartisan investigations. Nevertheless, both sides should show some sanity and keep the peace and calm for the betterment of masses on both sides of the border.

  4. Pakistan Army busy safe guarding ideological boundaries of Pakistan, therefore they do not have time and resources to protect people and geographical borders. By the way, is it not true that ideological borders of Pakistan are same as TTP’s ideology?

  5. Why do you need an international certificate when the parties know who has done what.

  6. I think beheading of Indian soldier was done by Indian Army only to escalate tension. Now they are killing Pakistani soldiers as well.

  7. Why is India refusing International probe, what they have got to hide ?

  8. Peace ,,thats all people want from both side

  9. Time to teach a lesson , Enough is Enough.

  10. Why dont India wants a third part to find what happend?———Maybee they already know the trouth but for old sake,,,,,,,just blame Pakistan,,,,,

    • For the same reason why Pakistan wants to do it. Pakistan stands to benefit by making it an international issue which for obvious reasons India wont be doing it. So, the problem still prevails. Everybody understands the problem in his own way and wants to solve the problem in their own way. Please think over it. How do you solve your problems in your homes by calling your neighbours?? Neighbours at best will break your home. India-Pakistan relations are like two brothers gone separated, but they can still be brothers if their people wants to.

    • my dear friend, it is always good to solve issue between both countries, than getting third one involved. each and every common man knows about it. Other wise it shows the immaturity of both countries.

      • I dont agree. Both the countries can’t solve this issue as both are blaming each other for the same thing. I say let the international body probe it.

  11. time for action if talk fails…
