Indian Muslims who came to Pakistan in 1947?????
Is this what they teach you in school…..Indian Muslims!!!!!!
Pakistan was formed so that all Muslims will live in Pakistan and rest Hindus+ Sikhs+ Jain+ +Buddhists + Christens + Parsi will live in India.
Yeah there is poverty in India but not a single Indian will ever prefer to come to Pakistan.

My view is that India and Pakistan should maintain a distance from each other,absolute cold turkey! there is so much mistrust and bad blood that past would always come to haunt the moment we try to warm up to each other – so why bother?

They have limited it to people with relatives in India. Let’s be a little more generous and accommodating – there are people that left in 1947, let’s allow them the comfort of visiting their place of birth in their twilight years. And, let’s make them welcome and comfortable during their stay. That they had to leave was a grave injustice – let us, the present generation, do our bit to make up for that. As an Indian, and Hindu, I see this as an act of “punya”.

I do not dismiss your concerns, those are for real. We should tackle them through robust customs screening.

The applicants should be informed that customs screening will be significantly more than routine, so expectations are managed properly.

If you have dual citizenship, you are probably better off applying from Pakistan. Out there, antecedents can be checked more easily. Western consulates are unable to determine antecedents of people living there reliably.

I do realise it is unfair, but you have David Headley to thank for it. Till the security situation remains the way it is, I do not see visa rules changing.

But please be fair – refusal rates are pretty high in all consulates, not just Indian.
