RAWALPINDI, Jan 14: Rawal Town Municipal Administration (TMA) has demolished illegal constructions in various areas.

According to Rawal Town spokesman, the ongoing operation against illegal constructions has been accelerated on the instructions of the town’s administrator, and strict action is being taken against the violators of the law.

A special survey conducted in this regard had identified several illegal constructions of commercial buildings.

Inspector Tariq Yousaf along with other staff of the enforcement department conducted raids and demolished illegal structures in Satellite Town F-Block, Pindora and Saidpur Road.

The spokesman said after concrete steps were taken in this regard, revenue generation has increased considerably as citizens have started submitting their building plans to get formal approval.

The tehsil municipal officer (TMO) said the increasing number of constructions without prior approval from the TMA had compelled the administration to adopt strict measures.

He said the TMA officials have also been warned to improve their performance, adding that officials with bad reputation would not be tolerated. — APP
