LAHORE, Jan 14: The legal fraternity on Monday observed a strike and condemned the killing of Shias in Hazara, Quetta.

A large number of lawyers at district courts and high court did not appear for work, while the courts also cooperated with them and adjourned cases without further progress.

At a general house meeting of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, lawyers condemned the Hazara killings and demanded a judicial inquiry into the incidents.

They held former Balochistan chief minister Aslam Raisani responsible for the chaos in the province and demanded the government put him on trial.

The house also demanded the government ensure financial compensation to families of the victims.
