PESHAWAR, Jan 14: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said elements opposed to peace, development and humanity had unleashed attacks on welfare organisations, female teachers and polio teams.Mr Hoti was speaking at a ceremony held at the CM house here on Monday to distribute compensation cheques among the relatives of deceased female teachers who died in an incident of firing on January 1 in Swabi.

Relatives of seven victims were given Rs300,000 each while one injured was given Rs100,000. The CM directed for employment to a member of the each affected family.

Commissioner Mardan Mohammad Adil, Deputy Commissioner Swabi Mohammad Shah and ANP Swabi president Haji Rehmanullah were also present on the occasion.

Fateha was offered for the victims. The CM expressed solidarity with the affected families and condemned the incident.

The CM said that human life had no replacement, however; it was government’s duty to assist the affected families in fulfilling their life needs. He assured the families of bringing to justice the elements involved in the coward act.

It merits a mention here that a van carrying teachers of Roshani School came under fire from terrorists on January 1 in Swabi. The incident claimed lives of six women and a man, while the driver got injured.—Bureau Report
