Yes we are back to square one I am afraid. Another military takeover has begun. From what you can read in the comments, the people are speaking as well….that essentially is democracy and clearly they do not want the present dispensation, a farce of democracy I guess you may say. The rulers have not woken up and the next step could be a bloody revolution with clash of institutions. The writing is on the wall. Another opportunity squandered. A sad day for Pakistan again…….a very sad day indeed.

Why is everybody complaining about democracy? If you feel bad about the current govt., then it’s is the very ‘democracy’ that lets you kick it out! Don’t fall for the sweet talk of ‘unelected’ people like Mr Qadri who from nowhere have been ‘dropped’ on the stage to hijack the process.

it is hilarious that those who came in power through dirty paid-politics and looted country’s wealth again and again collected from poor people talking about democracy. Actually, they have nothing on their account to claim on for next election, so trying to avert the attention of people from the mess over the years they made!

I am still unable to understand how can transparent election, unbiased caretaker government and better scrutiny of election candidates can derail democracy. Yes those should be worried who consider these transparency steps against their normal practice.
