LAHORE, Jan 14: The syndicate of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) has approved the curricula for M.Phil in Medical Laboratory Sciences and BSc in Nursing four-year programme (HEC Scheme).

The 34th meeting of the syndicate was held here on Monday with UHS Vice Chancellor Prof IA Naveed in the chair, says a press release. Syndicate members Amjad Islam Amjad, Prof Naseer Mahmood Akhtar, Khawar Rafique, Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Prof KP Lone, Prof Dr AH Nagi, Prof Dr Mohammad Tahir, Additional Secretary for Health Dr Anwar Janjua, Deputy Secretary for Finance Mohammad Iqbal and UHS Registrar Dr Asad Zaheer also attended the meeting.

The syndicate approved an amendment to eligibility criteria for admission to BSc (Honours) in biotechnology. As per the amendment, candidates with FSc pre-engineering will also be eligible for admission to the course. However, preference will be given to those with FSc pre-medical.

The meeting approved the syllabi and courses of master’s in health professional education, four-year master’s and two-year diploma in family medicine and certificate in medical teaching programme in collaboration with the University of Liverpool. The syndicate also approved the format of the PhD degree in clinical and basic sciences disciplines.
