KARACHI, Jan 15: The annual grant of Rs4 million for Karachi University will be resumed, said Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Administrator Mohammad Hussain Syed.

According to a university statement issued on Tuesday, the KMC administrator in a meeting with KU vice chancellor Dr Mohammad Qaiser again assured him that the KMC would give two buses for the varsity on an annual basis.

The assurance to this effect had recently been given by the KMC administrator.

Also present in the meeting, KU Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Dr Ghazala Hafeez Khawaja suggested to the KMC to set up a herbal medicine diagnostic lab. KU dean of science faculty

Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi was ready to extend assistance to the KMC Health Department for training food inspectors and assistance towards water safety issues.

The proposals were appreciated by the KMC administrator who also assured cooperation in this regard.—APP
