IT emerged in the Supreme Court hearing that PIA’s aircraft-to-employee ratio is 1:570.

It is interesting to note that Lufthansa has a ratio of 1:127 and Singapore Airlines, which took to the air with PIA’s help in the glory days of the legendary Air Marshal Nur Khan, has a ratio of 1:140. Industry experts know that the high number of employees directly affects an airline’s operating profit.

COMMENTS

  1. And to think that this government had the audacity to back pay their staff and re hire them while the airlines all over the world are downsizing.

  2. THERE SHOULD BE DOWNSIZING IN PIA WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY.

  3. Its not an airline but an employment exchange. And this reflects on all aspects of its service and profitability.

    • All the appointments over and above the requirements are made on political basis and union strength who do not have any sumpathicity with the orginzation or nation. The same situation is with Railway and steel Mill and many other departments.

      • With so many more than average employee, service should be far superior! Is taht the case? I never flew by this airline and have no exterience first hand.
