To make the situation worse, the candidate also did not receive good grades from other two examiners. Further, the lack of coherency is indicative of writer’s frustratio. There may still some room for a happy resolution. In my view the candidate he should approach the SOAS authorities for a re-review of his previous exam papers or be granted a re-write all exams, which to be marked by recognized and respectable three independednt (external to SOAS) faculty members. I with my daughter are products of Imperial College and LSE and have no complaints at all. These institutions together with SOAS are undeniably fair but do not waste time on below borderline candidates.
