In 1974′there were shia ulemas which along with Sunnis declared ahmedii pple kafir or non believers,today they are being killed becz Sunnis consider them kafirs,so it’s a tit for tat process,,tomorrow may be bralvis killed by deobandis ,,so it’s a viscous circle,,,yesterday u helped someone ,today u are alone ,and tomorrow somebody will face same condition as u r facing now ,,this is the. Fate of sorry state.

I am amazed at the influence of Military dictator late Zia exerts even today because of extreme Islamization of policies he introduced.Democracy must survive in Pakistan and I urge all well meaning people to step up and participate in democratic process for betterment of society and preventing wars.

Does Baluchistan want to be part of Pakistan? Why not ask the population. If they do not want to be part of Pakistan, let them go their own way. This will solve many problems for Pakistan. There were never sectarian violence in Baluchistan before it joined Pakistan. They may become secular again with respect to all religions.

Since Pakistan is run by the Pak Generals, and since the Pak Generals still support the Taliban and a host of other terror groups, why would changing the powerless civilian Government have any effect on the situation ?
Once you embrace terror, it also embraces you. Pakistan continues into the abyss.

Extremely well written and most disturbing. The author is absolutely right when he states that the state has steadily surrendered its authority to obscurantists. What is most disturbing is the growing sense that such ehinous acts are no longer regarded as largely criminal activities ; that they are coming to be viewed as acceptable by Sunni majority is the really firghtening aspect.
