Multi-talented British Asian actress, singer and host Sophiya Haque has reportedly passed away, according to a report in TOI.

Social networking sites were seen over flooding with this sad news. Sophia was known for her roles in West End productions like 'Bombay Dreams', 'The Far Pavilions', 'Wah Wah Girls'. She also starred in 'Coronation Street' as 'Poppy' in 2008. Prior to the soap, she appeared with Denise Van Outen in the BBC's 'Fairy Tales' series.

Many known people from the TV and film fraternity twitted and posted their views on the demise of a beautiful VJ. Haque also performed a dance sequence in the film 'Khoobsurat' (1999) and has hosted shows for MTV India and Channel V.

Though the cause behind Haque's death is currently unknown, it is assumed that the death occurred as the VJ was ailing from Cancer but still no confirm reason has been reported.
