MIRPURKHAS, Jan 16: A minor girl, who had gone missing on Jan 11, was found raped and murdered in Mir Allahbachayo Colony on Wednesday, police said.

They said that the body of nine-year-old Nimra was found wrapped in a plastic bag in a playground behind the Government Comprehensive Higher Secondary School after some residents informed the Satellite Town police about the bag.

The police said that the victim, a daughter of a rickshaw driver, had gone missing on Jan 11.

The family had lodged a report with the police.

The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas for a post-mortem examination.

Hospital sources said that the girl had been subjected to a sexual assault before being strangled with a thin plastic rope.
