Way opened to officers promotion
From the Newspaper | 17th January, 2013
Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman, on Wednesday, lifted a restraining order against the meeting of central selection board (CSB), enabling the federal government to promote hundreds of bureaucrats.
The court had passed the restraining order on January 11, 2012, after hearing the petition of grade-20 officer Yousaf Ghaffar Khan of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
Yousaf Ghaffar Khan had filed the petition, on January, 2012, through his counsel Abdul Rahim Bhatti, in which he alleged that CSB on December 12, 2011, had promoted officers, some junior, from BPS-20 to 21.
According to Mr Khan’s petition, he was made the fall guy because he had identified a ‘ghost officer.’
