KARACHI: A first information report (FIR) was registered at the Orangi police station on Friday against unidentified suspects in connection with the killing of a lawmaker on Thursday.

A gun attack on a car of Sindh Assembly lawmaker belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Syed Manzar Imam on Thursday left him along with two police guards and a private guard dead in Orangi Town.

The police said that the FIR (7/2013) was registered against six unidentified suspects on a complaint of a brother of the slain MPA at the Orangi Town police station. The FIR was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (with common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, the police added.
