LARKANA, Jan 18: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) police in Larkana announced on Friday to have arrested a sub-divisional officer working in the bund division of the irrigation department on charges of selling the material of an irrigation inspection bungalow after getting it demolished during his stay in 2011 as a sub-divisional officer at Dhamraho subdivision of the Rice Canal.

ACE circle officer Qazi Sharfuddain told Dawn that Gul Sher Shajjiro had been arrested on Friday near his office in Khatt, Dadu district, following permission granted by the Sindh ACE chairman.

The suspect would be produced in the anti-corruption court on Saturday for a final challan, said Mr Sharfuddin.

The Larkana ACE had registered a case (FIR no 8/2011) against the officer who had been on duty without seeking bail from the court.
