RAWALPINDI, Jan 18: An 18-year-old son of a police officer allegedly committed suicide at his house in Gulzar-i-Quaid here on Friday.

Police said Sher Dil, a college student and son of a deputy superintendent of police (DSP), sent a message to his farther currently posted in Chakwal saying: “Please forgive me, if I have hurt you.”

After receiving the message, the DSP telephoned his wife and asked her about the whereabouts of their son. Though the mother did not know that her son was inside his room, she heard the sound of a gunshot from the room.

When she opened the door, she found her son dead. The motive behind the suicide could not be ascertained as the police were reluctant in giving the details of the incident.
