Overseas dental is being given more preference as you do four years and get into working. Plus a dentist with a bds makes far more money than a doctor with Mbbs. Dentists are the highest paid profession making even more money than barristers. Even in Pakistan good dentists are making crazy money just a couple of years after completing their four years bds compared to doctors who have to study at least 5 years.

I think your column will merely hurt the feelings of the aspirants who are looking forward for their career in dentistry. I completely agree with the statement you have written for the MBBS interests and its wide and variant open fields but it does not mean that dentistry does not have wide and open fields. One can get more specific in research and studying dentistry can led him toward targeting specific are which will eventually open new gates for a student.
Applying abstract rules to specific situations is a different skill.
