I beg to disagree slightly. MBA is designed and configuered to analyse and decide based on given facts. Entpreneurs are adventurers. Two different things and two different applications. This however does not mean that an MBA cannot be an Entpreneur.

We concur too. Person who started McDonlad restaurents, will not give franchise to an MBA. He used to say that an MBA will not go on his knees and clean up bath room floor.

Dear Mr Rafi,

I believe its good to compare Tata and Ambanis but one can’t ignore the ethical values and business principles being followed by Tata.

The bottom line is that both these companies have grown locally and internationally because of highly talented Indian People from top national and int’l universities. As far as “While the Pakistani businessmen think only of amassing huge cut-throat profits, none of them can ever be Birla or Tata.” will only change when students from these prestigious IBA and LUMS will enter our local companies and bring about a sustainable change!

Its people/teams who drive companies while corporations only provide the platform be it national or multi-national so these graduates will bring ” change management” which will ultimately make local companies go global!

Visionaries are born or they are created is not the issue. The issue is the opportunity if you get it you take it and leave the country where you in demand. No matter if you are graduated from IBA or LUMS

The purpose of doing MBA as I understand is to become entrpreneurs not seeking jobs. Business schools should provide the right road map while revisiting their mission statements. Thereis stress on making ” Leaders of Tommorw” it would help if the graduates are moulded into Entrpreneurs of today.

This is based on misconception local companies are at present are the best employers of Pakistan paying handsome salaries to their employees but they are result oriented and seldom operate on imported uncompatible management theories which are not applicable in our country. For example our textile and garment and agro industry sector which are great achievments of locals . As regards LUMS and IBA they are good institutes but getting knowledge in put from USA and Euorope and these cultures are very different from ours.
