LARKANA, Jan 22: Policemen belonging to the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) of Larkana arrested former Shahdadkot SDM Muhammed Haneef Pitafi and sitting Mukhtiarkar of Nasirabad Allahdad Daidar on Tuesday for allegedly preparing fake documents to transfer agriculture land.

Speaking to Dawn, Larkana ACE Circle Officer Qazi Sharfuddain said Rustam Lashari, who was entrusted with the power of attorney by a land claimant, Kanwar Muhammed Umar, had complained that the two officers had prepared fake documents and got transferred more than four acres of land in survey no 542 in Deh Talbani Larkana Taluka in 1990 in favour of Ahmed Bakhsh Jamali.

Muhammed Haneef Pitafi had been posted as Mukhtiarkar Barrage Larkana in 1990 and in collusion with the then Tapedar (Patwari), he had committed the forgery, the officer said.

The ACE police had conducted the raids after seeking permission from the chairman of Anti-Corruption Establishment and picked up Patwari Allahdad Daidar from an area near Pakistani chowk while the former SDM had been arrested from his house in Sachal Colony, he said.

The former SDM of Shahdadkot is presently posted in the Board of Revenue, Hyderabad office.

The ACE police obtained a seven-day remand of former SDM Muhammed Haneef Pitafi from the court of Judicial Magistrate-I Jahangir Bhayo while the remand of Mukhtiarkar Allahdad Daidar would be obtained from the court concerned on Wednesday.
