TALAGANG, Jan 23: A local leader of Ahl-i-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) was killed in an armed attack here on Wednesday, police sources said.
Qari Mohammad Saeed, the prayer leader of a local mosque, was attacked by an unidentified gunman when he came out of Ayesha Siddiqua Masjid on Mianwali road after Maghrib prayers.
He died on the spot, the sources said. Police took the body to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
A large number of ASWJ supporters and others gathered at the hospital after receiving information about Qari Saeed’s murder.
