From what I understand, the Booker Prize is awarded for a specific work. I’ve been scouring the net for the name of Mr. Hussain’s work that was shortlisted. No success so far. But at least our own Dawn should have reported this story more in-depth and highlighted it. After all, the Booker is a huge deal in literature. But disappointingly, it seems that Dawn has only picked up the story from international news agencies. The wording is almost the same as that on other web sites.

Before receiving awards from any organization we should have enough self respect, diginity and sense to recognize by research, who is giving, what is their agenda. By accepting, whose company will I be joining or become accessory or pushing what agenda?
