Reasons for failure of Democracy and Government given by Shahab-ud-din commission are still prevailing in Pakistan.
1) The self aggrandizment of greedy and knavish politician.
2) Abscence of well organized political parties. ( Because of no intra-party elections )
3) Lack of dedicated leadership.
Wow ! what a far sighted person he was. Long live cracked and self centered politicians of Pakistan ! Pakistan may ALLAH save you. Ameen

Dr Suleri, the executive director, Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) is totally misleading by giving the impression that Pakistan is NOT an Agriculture economy. Actually, we are nothing BUT AN AGRICULTURE economy, We have no manufacturing and what little manufacturing we have is Cotton which is also Agro-based. Cotton is sown, looked after and then harvested on Agri-land. Second, most of is not all or service industry is around Agri-products. Just look around you and you will see Food and Clothing – both as a result of our farmers toiling. So I beg to differ with Dr. Suleri and his starting assumptions that we are not an agro-based country. Increase our Agro-productivity, given farmers their fair share in infrastructure and keep hoaders and middle-men away and you’ll see Pakistan become a net exporter of Food. Perhaps this is our problem. We see the world upside down. We want people to see what we are not and afraid to admit what we are…Aurangzeb Bhatti

A similar situation in China was the cause of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Agricultural production was overseen by the Red Guard, and middle schools, colleges and universities were put on lock down for ten years. Bureaucrats and professors were blamed for the break down in food production. Teachers and professors had nothing to do with the famine, but they became China’s scapegoats. Chairman Mao and Jhou En-Lai let them take the fall in order to remain in power.
