KARACHI, Jan 27: A large number of civil society activists staged a protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club on Sunday to demand arrest of killers of Jamal Qadri, who was killed in an attack on Jan 2 when he was on his way to appear in his BCom examinations with his brother Haider Qadri from their house in Agra Taj Colony, Lyari. Jamal had died on the spot while Haider had been critically injured.

In their speeches, Students Action Committee leader Syed Abdul Rasheed and Human Rights Network chairman Intikhab Alam Soori said it was the victim’s birthday on Jan 27 (Sunday).

They said the Supreme Court had taken notice of Shahzeb’s murder and it should take notice of Jamal Qadri’s murder also. They gave the government an ultimatum of three days to arrest the killers.—PPI
