Gujarat massacre happened more than a decade ago. no communal violence in Gujarat since then & is one of the most prosperous states in India. Babri Masjid demolition happend around two decades ago. again, India has left it behind and has attempted to move on. Explosions and large scale attacks are not part of routine life in India. I believe most muslims will still prefer to be in India than come to Pakistan. Does this say anything?…

There is saffron terrorism in India. Dawn has did the right thing by highlighting it. There are some organisations like RSS trying their best to generate fundamentalism in India. But thank GOD people of India are aware of their tactics and most of the citizens just don’t given in to them. They are trying their best to instill hatred towards other religions like Muslims and Christians. Although they don’t own any weapons as of now, if they are allowed to continue they may bring guns and bombs too. Large sections of Hindus are fighting against those organisations by lots of lots debates in media like newspapers, news channels and public gatherings. India can only live and survive if we survive plurality. Although saffron terrorism is very small now, but if we don’t fight against it , it’ll grow in such a way that one day it’ll create a situation where we will have no future.

Guys – i will not question your wisdom here but tell me one simple truth.. would a home minister of huge country like india will chatter about any potential threats in public or would work on it in a classified way to address it.. ? tell me if you would have been in his place, what would be your course of action.. i am sure you would go with working on it internally through all intelligence network rather blabbering on it in open.. that explains his motives which are basically to lure the muslim votes or vote bank group as stated in our country… if there’s an aorta of truth in what he has said, then perhaps we would have seen all the saffron brigade behind bars by now…. and if he doesn’t have proofs then he wouldn’t have been openly bringing their names in front.. just need to think with some common sense and nothing else.

we are not the ‘so called tolerant people’ but we actually are.. the diverse background, regions, religions, traditions itself tells everyone the tolerant nature of our country… as for the comments by shinde he is a small fish trying to cache the vote bank.. and if there’s any truth in his comments then i am sure law and order will take its course and investigate the allegations.. we know what we are doing and doesn’t need people lying in cesspool to tell us to come clean..

The average Dawn reader from Pakistan is not like his stereotyped and much maligned countryman steeped in conspiracy theories, religious dogma and struggles of daily life. He is very well informed, has a sense of history, and understands realpolitik.
Hence it is not to difficult to imagine him slapping his head as he reads about the moral and real-world parallels drawn between a bunch of losers from Nagpur who got their hands on some explosives, and some of the most dangerous armed groups in the world, who carry out spectacular attacks across the globe, are designated international terrorist organizations by world governments and bodies, take on organized armies, all the while being supported with finance, training, weapons, and political cover by national governments.
Yes, they know the comparison is ridiculous and laughable. But why would they pass up a golden opportunity to take the words of the Indian Home Minister and throw it on our faces? I wouldn’t, would you?
