PARIS, Jan 29: Inflation in advanced countries was steady at 1.9 per cent in the 12 months to December compared with the rate in November, the OECD reported on Tuesday.

The main components of the monthly indicator published by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development were also “broadly stable,” the organisation said. Energy price inflation was 2.9 per cent and food price inflation 2.1 per cent. If the prices of food and energy were excluded from the calculation, 12-month inflation was 1.5 per cent in December.

The 12-month data was stable for Canada, showing an increase of 0.8pc, and in Britain with 2.7pc for the third month running.—AFP
