ISLAMABAD, Jan 31: Complaining of discrimination and government incompetence, the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) has planned a nationwide protest movement, scheduled to begin in Bahawalpur on Saturday and potentially spreading to Lahore and Islamabad.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, Chairman of the APCNGA's Supreme Council, explained some of the association's demands.

“We want the supply of gas to industries and CNG filling stations across Punjab to be resorted to its former schedule,” he said. The APCNGA's protest drive will begin in Bahawalpur on February 2; the following days include protests in Multan and Vehari and a rally in Faisalabad.

“As the drive moves on, we will hold demonstrations in Gujranwala on February 5,” Mr Paracha said, adding after which the movement will spread to Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi.

He said that if the authorities failed to accept the industry's demands, ‘We will stage sit-ins in Lahore and Islamabad on February 10th.’
