Mother

I love my mother, I always respect her, She wants for her child A bright future! She helps me and others too, And protects me from the evils!

She has a wonderful personality, She wants to inculcate in me High spiritual values! My mother is honest, Her love is selfless!

A beast

It is a crocodile, It is a beast, But for humans,  It is not a feast.

Look at it, Look at its shadow, Not bright but dull and dim!

So takes out its claws, And moves towards its prey, In goes the prey in its jaws!

Dengue

The city has been struck by a disaster, The little mosquito has proven Himself our master;

The little insect strikes, And crushes a patient’s might, The menace disappears  In broad daylight;

And mind you, You will hardly find him In any water-free site!

The government is well on its toe, To deal the dengue a death blow, But the aedes won’t stop Until we take proper measures To kill them all!

Field trip Her footsteps echoed In the deserted corridor; All of a sudden she stopped; Turned around and hollered, “Where would you all like to go For the field trip this year?” All murmurs and whispers stopped, We all looked around and stirred, And then howled like a raging herd. “We would like to travel into space And play football with the moon. We would love to travel Through pictures into books; And step up as the fantasy looms.” Our spirits rose high and we gathered Around the teacher and yelled, “We would like to visit the castle of mirrors where We could see ourselves wherever we stood. We would like to travel around the world On a flying carpet and land in a place We would like to go up in the clouds In a flying house and then Sleep on the fluffy cloud beds, Perhaps, have a shower with rain drops!” The teacher silenced us with her glare, And marched through straight, Into her lair.
