LAHORE, Feb 2: A woman in her 50s was found shot dead at her house in Qila Samme locality of Manga Mandi on Saturday.

Police were alerted by Ashraf who found his sister, Naseem, lying dead with a single gunshot wound. She was alone at her house at the time of the incident.

Naseem contracted marriage with Rana Wakeel and the couple had no child. She had transferred her 10 acre property to her nephews.

The police shifted the body to a hospital for an autopsy and started investigation.

SUICIDE: A youth reportedly committed suicide by swallowing some poisonous substance at the house of his in-laws in a Chuhng locality on Saturday.

The victim’s family alleged that 22-year-old Haq Nawaz was murdered by his in-laws.

Chuhng police investigation revealed that Nawaz of Raiwind had contracted marriage with Afza some three months ago. He started living with his in-laws after developing differences with his family. His sister is married to Afza’s brother Iqbal.

The police said Nawaz was a vegetable vendor, but he left the business a month ago. He was also an addict. The police linked the legal action with the outcome of an autopsy.

KILLED: An elderly woman was killed in a road accident near Shalamar Chowk here on Saturday.

Baghbanpura police said the woman, unidentified so far, was hit by a vehicle of a public sector university. The driver fled the scene.
