QUETTA, Feb 4: The Balochistan government has decided to launch a campaign against unregistered Afghan refugees living in different parts of the province.

The decision was made at a meeting held here on Monday to discuss repatriation of Afghan refugees.

Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani directed the officers concerned to check registration cards of the refugees, arrest those who did not have the cards and repatriate them to Afghanistan.

He asked the district administrations of Loralai, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Chaman, Chaghai and Qila Saifullah to take action against refugees found involved in illegal activities.

Mr Durrani said that maintaining law and order was their responsibility and vowed to make Balochistan a citadel of peace.

Commissioner of Afghan Refugees Abdul Saboor Kakar, Deputy Director of FIA Shahab Azim, Deputy Commissioner of Chaghai Dr Muhammad Aslam and representatives of the UNHCR and National Database and Registration Authority attended the meeting.
