Implementation of Articles 62 and 63
Pakistan’s politics is infested with corrupt MNAs and MPAs. A majority of these people cannot pass through the strainer of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
These Articles demand that those who enter the assemblies should be of good character, follow Islamic injunctions and are righteous, honest and ameen (trustworthy).
As these qualities are non-existent in the existing crop of the parliamentarians, they aren’t worthy of sitting in the assemblies.
It’s therefore necessary that electoral reforms are conducted before the elections take place.
Once, these reforms are instituted, one can expect good people in Pakistani politics who would lead the country towards
progress.
It’s also felt that the Election Commission should be given more powers. The members of this commission should also pass through the filter of the above-mentioned articles.
The commission should be allocated one month’s period to scrutinise the record of all prospective parliamentarians. All those candidates who haven’t paid their taxes and are loan defaulters or possess fake degrees would automatically be barred from contesting the elections.
Some people argue that the Chief Election Commissioner, though, an upright and honest person, is too old to hold this position and wouldn’t be able to withstand the stress of the elections.
My reply to them is that Quaid-i-Azam was also a fragile person but had nerves of steel. He was successful in carving out a separate homeland for Muslims of India.

These articles are recommending that parliamentarians should be selected and not elected.

i totally favour your comment and withstands with your piont of view because now we are not in he position to test the old bullets which are corrupt in themselves.
Pakistan my beloved country is at the verge of collapse, only the implementation of such articles 62,63 and the point of view as of yours can save the country.
to improvise the situation of our country the contemporary parlimentarians should not only be thrown out of the politics but should also be filtered throgh the strainer of public accountability.
Better to die ten thousand deaths than wound my honor. I don’t think it applies in Pakistani politics. We are corrupt to the bones. We need a revolution but than again, the revolution is a dictatorship of the exploited against the exploiters. There is no middle ground.
It is absolutely right, a majority of MNAs and MPAs cannot pass through the strainer of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution of Pakistan, so what is the next step? will these people allow this to happen or will they use other stunts to get elected.
M. Zafar Khan is right in saying “These Articles demand that those who enter the assemblies should be of good character, follow Islamic injunctions and are righteous, honest and ameen (trustworthy).” However, Mr. Khan fails to realize that only a Pakistani court of law can judge a person, not you and I. In order for a court to judge a person, a complaint against the person has to be filed in court to seek judgment.
Name few names who fulfill these articles?
Javed Hashmi and Asad Umar of PTI, Sardar Mahtab Khan Abbasi of PML-N, Raza Rabbani of PPP are one of those who fulfill these articles (62 and 63). I am sure there are other good people in Pakistani politics
