LADHA/MIRAMSHAH, Feb 8: Eight militants, including two Al Qaeda members, were killed when a US drone fired two missiles into a compound of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan in Bobar Ghar area on the border of South and North Waziristan tribal regions on Friday evening.

Sources said the compound owned by local TTP commander Ali Mehsud had been completely destroyed.

According to DSR (daily secret report) received by the political agent of South Waziristan from the tehsil Sara Rogha administration, eight militants were killed in the drone strike. The report did not say anything about the identity of the dead.

Intelligence sources said two foreigners from Al Qaeda, identified as Abu Majid Al-Iraqi and Shiekh Waqas Al-Yamoni, were among the dead. The rest were local TTP fighters belonging to the Mehsud tribe.

They said the actual death toll could not be ascertained as the area was in a far-flung mountainous range and inaccessible. It is under the TTP control and local people have moved to other areas.
