Shahzeb murder case: ATC sends Shahrukh to central prison

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) ordered on Monday for the prime accused in the Shahzeb Khan murder case, Shahrukh Jatoi, to be transferred from the Karachi’s juvenile prison to the central prison Karachi whereas a show-cause notice was issued to the police surgeon and Investigating Officer (IO) on the case, DawnNews reported.
The hearing over the murder case of Shahzeb Khan, was gunned down on Dec 25, 2012 near his house in Karachi’s Defence Housing Society, resumed at the special courts of the ATC in Karachi
Shahrukh and three other suspects appeared in court for the hearing along with members of a medical board who submitted the medical records pertaining to the prime accused.
According to the birth certificate submitted, Shahrukh’s date of birth was stated as Nov 27, 1993.
Shahrukh’s age was proved to be above 19 years in light of the records submitted after which the court ordered his trasfer from Karachi’s Juvenile prison to Central Jail Karachi.
The court also issued show-cause notice to the police surgeon and the Investigating Officer (IO) on the case for submitting false medical records in the court.
The IO informed the court that investigations were still under process and requested the court for more time.
The court granted the police one-week’s time to submit a chalan in the court and adjourned the next hearing until Feb 19.
