LAHORE, Feb 11: The Punjab University in collaboration with the World Bank has established National Centre for Resettlement and Rehabilitation at the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS).

PU Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Zakaria Zakar has said the centre would act as a national think-tank to conduct academic research, organise training programmes and provide policy guidelines for the resettlement and rehabilitation challenges faced by development-induced involuntary displacements.

Prof Zakar, who is also director of the ISCS, along with World Bank Development Specialist Chaohua Zhang and NESPK Environment and Resettlement Specialist Irfanul Haq met Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran. — Staff Reporter
