Pakistan television’s super hit satirical serial Aangan Terrha is back, this time not on your television screens but as a theatrical performance.

Dawn.com met with legendary writer Anwar Maqsood and director Dawar Mehmood to find out more about the journey that has brought Aangan Terrha to the stage.

The drama, dating back to 1983, is here exactly after a span of 30 years and with an all-new cast. However, its principal characters remain the same: Mehboob (Talal Jilani), Jahan Ara (Hareem Farooq), Chaudhry (Sajeeruddin) and Akbar (Yasir Hussain.)

Tickets for the play are available for Rs. 1,500/- at the Karachi Arts Council, where Aangan Terrha is being performed since Feb 8 (at 8:30 pm) and are also available at Butler’s Chocolate Café Zamzama.
