Pakistan close to an Olympic ban, says IOC

LAUSANNE: Pakistan could soon join neighbours India as Olympic outcasts with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Tuesday considering suspending the country over what it said was government interference.
“We might soon consider a suspension as a protective measure,” IOC spokesman Mark Adams told reporters.
He said the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and the country’s government had been invited to the IOC’s headquarters later this week to discuss a domestic dispute over the sports body’s independence.
“The government of Pakistan has ignored the invitation,” Adams said.
Pakistan Olympic officials claim the government has been interfering with the administration of the POA in a dispute that has been simmering for months.
The IOC banned India in December over government interference in elections of the Indian Olympic Association.
An Olympic ban means an effective end to funding from the IOC to the national Olympic association. No officials of that association can attend Olympic meetings and athletes of a banned nation cannot compete at the Games under their country’s flag.
India deserves this ban as a corrupt government interferes in every little thing that has some money.
better to0 be banned than to appear every time and failing to win a medal.

Yet another failure by the incompetent government
Even, if IOA bans us, what we will lose? Pakistan has not won a single medal during the last five Olympics in 20 years. And our POA chief seems to be a shameless man for his zero output.

Another failure by our so called democratic govt.
Government did not accept IOC invitation as there was no money for them. Government is corrupt and have their own agenda. IOC should postpone their decision till after the Pakistani Elections.
Our corrupt democratic government deserves recognition as one by one it has been extremely successful in the destruction of our institutions. Our national airline, Railway, Steel mill, law and order, Education, Health, economy and (rental) power sector all have been destroyed. Now soon we are going to booted out of this Olympic committee. What is next? May God protect our country from these political hyenas.
Yeah they should ban Pakistan immediately. We don’t have any athletes worth writing home about anyway.

First they do and then when given oppurtunity to justify their deed they dont come forward and later they go to appeal in switzerland for mercy.
