QUETTA: At least eight persons, including women and children, were killed in a road accident in Kuchlak, some 25 km off the provincial capital Wednesday morning.

Police said a car carrying a family of nine was on its way from the border town of Chaman to Quetta city.

“The speedy car collided head on with a truck when it took a turn near Kuchlak,” police said. Four occupants of the car died on the spot and five others received fatal injuries, they said.

Police added that four of the five injured succumbed to their injuries when they were being shifted to Sandeman Civil Hospital, Quetta.

“The dead include two women, three children, two men of the same family and the driver of the car,” police said.

The bodies were handed over to the heirs after legal formalities.

Kuchlak police said further probe was in process.
