Pakistan’s space programme

IRAN’S space programme is now very advanced and it recently sent a monkey into space.
I remember that in the mid-1960s Pakistan’s space programme began with a lot of fanfare with the launching of two rockets (Rehbar I and II).
This caused great concern in India, which did not have a space programme then. Now with India planning to land a man on the moon and Iran also way ahead of Pakistan, should we not try to find out where we went wrong?
Was it due to massive corruption that we lost the race?

Actually I don’t think Pakistan needs a space program, so I am glad that it lagged and today is basically nowhere, one less area money is wasted. Plus I am sure the Establishment took the money in the name of national interest.
I didn’t know Pakistan have Space program too. Any way first of all lets run the Lahore’s first City bus service without installing modern equipment in the Hospitals and pending salaries of the doctors.

Because the leadership all their time staying in power and forgot the future-as for india , forget their sound bites, last rocket 95% built in Russia and 5% in India sent to space got lost. I believe it was called chandrivika or something like that-the episode should be called-lost in space.

We cannot even manage the land how can we even think of sending rockets into the space outside this world. Let PIA first improve to fly in the aero space within the world then we may start thinking of going to moon.
@Salman Cheema: You have hit the nail on the head I myself could not have said it any better, we are a people with convoluted minds and misplaced priorities who lost their mooring when they had decided to disown their own proud ancient heritage in exchange for a completely alien legacy and culture that does not shy away from calling us non-Arabs inferior beings.
Regarding our space program it needs a big and consistent investment capital unfortunately we do not have any to spare for it.
Because you don’t spend enough on education you don’t have anyone worthy enough to be called a scientist.

To be very fonest, pak does not need any space progamme…Can take it ready made from China.
Be smart and save millions of $. by using China.
Every failure does not have corruption behind it, Mr. Lakhani, unless it is proven in the court of law or through media trial. We already have thousands of corruption cases reported in the media, and the whole nation tends to believe them, with or without actual court trials.
These are thousands of corruption cases against influential people! These days people are rightly reluctant to testify even against street thugs let alone these powerful and corrupt.
We forgot who we are and want to be Arabs. Thats where we went wrong. We were proud people with 5000 plus yrs of Indus valley civilization accumilated achievement and technology. We want to be Arabs who 70 yrs ago had no water to clean themself. Then came the Yankees, Brits, French,Dutch etc and said the black oily stuff you desert nomads wipe on your face, give it to us and we give you money to buy everything including Pakistani’s. Well, simply because harappa and mohenjo-daro currently fall in the are will constitute pakistan it does not mean you have any share in these civilization.People of Pakistan either forget or don’t know such many sites exists in india like dholavira ,rrakhigarhi,kalibangan,lothal etc may not be as famous as harappa and mohenjo-daro because these were first one to get discovered.Indus civilization belongs to indian as they inherits it through culture, religious practices, customs or ancestry. simply because you occupy that reason you can not inherit the history.it is quiet similar to the fact that american white can not inherit red indian’s history simply because they now live in america and similarly american white despite living away from Greece and Rome can not be denied their inheritance of these civilization
You need to brush up history kid. Indian civilization had nothing in common with indus civilization. They were sharing the same land but were totally different.
Real reason for lagging behind other nations is the quota system that was introduced by ZAB. We are now harvesting what was sowed since 70′s. This system has destroyed merit and produced incompetent people who are now running the show in all walks of society.
you are absolutely right. on top of that establishments injected hatred & violence in the youths instead of promoting education, R&D.
