LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 15: A jirga of Aba Shaheed tribe has formed a committee to name their own candidate for the provincial assembly seat in coming general election.

The committee was formed at a meeting in Abakhel village here on Friday. It will consist of elders from each sub-tribe of Abakhel, Dallokhel and adjacent villages.

Over 4,000 residents and elders of Abakhel, Dallokhel, Wanda Kalan, Wanda Zeran, Matora and other villages attended the gathering. Those who spoke on the occasion included former nazim Johar Mohammad, Haji Zarwali Khan, former president of Lakki bar Najibullah Khan and Mohammad Ishaq.

They said on the occasion that the villagers should come out to get their rights back from usurpers. They said that traditional politicians from the district usurped the rights of Aba Shaheed tribe and they never launched any development project in the area.
