ONLY the other day my younger brother, who was back from Karachi, once peaceful and beautiful city of Sindh, asked me a very important question: “Shall we find peace in Karachi?”

To this crucial question I quoted the golden words of Robert Fulghum, who once said: “Peace is not something you wish for, it is something you make, something you do, something you are and something you give away.”

Alas! the government has not been able to come up to the expectation of the people in this regard, though it is about to complete its five-year term. Civil society organisations must come forward and force the state machinery to use all necessary means to protect the lives of people and their properties in the commercial hub of the country.
