LAHORE, Feb 18: Five teams will contest for honours in the Bank Alfalah Aibak Cup Polo which runs from Tuesday to Sunday here at the Lahore Polo Club ground.LPC president Abdul Haye Mehta said that five foreign players, belonging to three different countries, will take part in the high-goal competition.

“The participation of foreign players is significant as the many athletes are refusing to come to Pakistan on security grounds,” he said.

Among the foreign players are the Argentinean trio of Santiago Mendivil, Gaston Moore and Manual Crespo along with James Harper from England and Chilean Matias Vial Perez.

Teams: Pool A: Colony Sugar: Hamza Mawaz Khan, Sameer Habib Oberoi, Saqib Khan Khakwani, Matias Vial Perez. Diamond Paints: Mir Shoaib Ahmad, Shaukat Ali Malik, James Harper, Raja Samiullah.

Pool B: Master Paints: Sufi Muhammad Amir, Sufi Muhammad Hairs, Gaston Moore, Shah Qubilai Alam. PAF: Wing Comd. Nausher Khan, Ahmed Ali Tiwana, Santiago Mendivil, Atif Yar Tiwana. Army: Abdul Rehman Monnoo, Raja Temur Nadeem, Maj. Gen. Isfandyar Ali Khan and Manuel Crespo.
