Hazara killings: ISI resubmits report in SC
ISLAMABAD:The Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) resubmitted its report in the Supreme Court during Wednesday’s hearing of the suo motu notice taken in the aftermath of the recent blast in Quetta, DawnNews reported.
The court also expressed its dissatisfaction over a report submitted by the Governor of Balochistan.
According to the report the intelligence agencies had provided prior intimation regarding an imminent terrorist attack.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad giving his remarks said that if there was information available about an attack on the Hazara Community on Jan 27 then it was the duty of the police and FC to act for the prevention of such an incident.
The deputy attorney general informed the court that the cabinet secretary would appear in court on Feb 21 for the hearing of the case pertaining to the Hazara killings.
The court also summoned the Director General FC, CCPO Quetta, Balochistan’s home secretary and the secretary of interior and defence for the next hearing which was adjourned until Feb 21.
Earlier the court had rejected a report of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) submitted by Defence Secretary Asif Yaseen Malik, DawnNews reported.
A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, was hearing the case.
Interior Secretary Khwaja Siddiq Akbar and the defence secretary were present during today’s hearing.
The court rejected the ISI report which was submitted by the defence secretary and ordered for it to be re-submitted after amendments.
The chief justice remarked that the court’s queries were not answered and that reports were sought from other agencies as well.
The defence secretary said that Military Intelligence (MI) has no role in this case and he further said that if the MI comes across any information only then it shares it with the ISI.
Earlier on Tuesday, Chief Justice Iftikhar had said that the responsibility for Saturday’s deadly bombing that claimed 87 lives fell on the federal government.

What a sorry bunch is running the government. It is so sad.
I have a bad feeling that when we all will go infront of Allah (SWT) on the judgement day under the banner of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we will be ashamed of not saving innocent lives. 5 year olds are not shias, sunnis, christian, hindu or jew. They are just 5 year olds. They will ask Allah (SWT) why they were bombed and butchured. A terrorist might reply that we bombed this boy/girl in retaliation to the fact that someone else launched drone missiles on kids of another ethnicity. I am sure this reasoning would not work on the day of judgement. Please use your sense of day of judgement.
Hazara brothers must arm themselves for starters. for its time for Jihad or be wiped out from the face of the world.
They must also ask for their own country at the UN.
Enough is enough.
and what about the failed role of judiciary of certifying all branded terrorists as innocent civilians. None of the terrorists are quizzed the way politicians and senior bureaucrats are questioned in courts – for them there is always lack of evidence.
Our intelligence agencies have failed us, just like other institutions.
Ask our agencies with there resources what are they doing to protect citizens of pakistan???
How much more pathetic can the state of affairs get!
The finger pointing at whose fault is it that so many people had to die and who did not do what and who could/should/must have done something is a state of limbo that would leave a normal, decent self respecting person in a state of disgust for living in a country where those who have the authority, the credentials, the resources and the legitimacy to do what they are paid for. Is it lethargy, cowardice, apathy or perhaps alignment with the intolerant worldview of the militant terrorist organizations that make these so called “authorities” tie up their hands and sip tea doing nothing while the innocent citizen dies?
DISGUSTING!
Rizqe Halaal is definitely what they all are earning.
God be with the inncocent and the weak (Amin)
But it is the fact, if not Federal Government then who else is responsible although the federal govt has done nothing in the last five years except of course fill their pockets.
Open letter to the CJ.
Sir, if an individual claims to be the party responsible for some action taken, why is that individual not taken into custody and questioned, resulting in arrests and conviction? Secondly, if names are mentioned what more do you need for proof. I have a dirty feeling that this episode will be lost in a maze of mirrors and smoke. With remorse I state that the ISI, army, and the federal government are involved in this carnage simply due to their negligence and lack of action. I sincerely believe by allowing this catastrophy the above mentioned are intentionally creating distraction while they rob the coffers of a country that I left, but still love. I hope the judiciary has the courage to prosecute and not allow the ugly politics of Pakistan to hamper its progress in any way.
how many Terrorists has Mr, Chief Justice Hanged in the past years & also his fellow Judicary……..Stop blaming others for your own failure,,
CJP running election campaign of someone. How can responsibility of a provincial matter fall on Federal Government?
Dear Mr Observer, May I correct you that under the constitution of Pakistan the governor rule means fthat there is no provincial government and federal govenment is directly ruling the province through governor therefore CJP is perfectly correct in his remarks
You seem like a JIYALA, who closes his/her eyes are say, Everything is good. Let me correct you SIR, There is no provincial government in Baluchistan, There is Governor Raj which gets the direction from the presidency, I believe Presidency is a federal matter, right?
In a disasterous situation due to the total absence of the state, thank heavens, the Apex Court is trying to bring some sense to deal with it.
Why should ISI/MI try to get intelligence information on internal situation, when the CJ has himself in Asghar Khan case directed them to restrict to borders?.Think before you leap and dish out orders.
What could the SCP do when the executive arm of the government is inefficient? I’m not wondering how would it be helpful to overcome this terrorism monster in our country, except naming, blaming, shaming, and dismissing a few security officials by the CJP. We require a comprehensive policy from the Fed & Provincials Governments and the security agencies.
Why release the terrorist in the first place? It was the same Judiciary who released LeJ leader on the lack of evidence. They are claiming the responsibility, don’t you get it?
Are you saying lack of evidence is judiciary responsibility? You must be a Jiyala too
ISI should allow people to own it and love it. I am sure, this strength would give them the courage. Get the hawks out, learn from mistakes, vow not to repeat blunders, envision the changing world and right of the people to know. Let’s make a better Pakistan. The one that is owned by all Pakistanis not the one that is only owned by elite establishment.
CJ please go into depth of the incident, and call every agencies for question
